Prop and Other Fabrication
Bruce Builds
Since his first experience building sets and props for the theatre Bruce has enjoyed a second career as a builder of anything needing building. From sets and props to special effects costumes he has made a lot of stuff.

The Crown of Knives
On a Thursday night in the summer of 1998 Bruce's friend (and Emmy nominee) Melanie Paizis Jones asked him to make a crown of knives for Jamie Lee Curtis.
Unfortunately a few hours later the powers that be nixed the job for some reason.
Jump ahead to Sunday evening 8 pm or so. Bruce gets a frantic call. Apparently the job was back on and the crown was due at 9 am the next morning.
Always embracing a challenge Bruce accepted the job and was soon presented with a box full of varied expensive and ornate knives, one was even gold plated, with the instruction to not damage the knives in any way.
After working all night (thank God for the 24 hr Home Depot in Hollywood) he finally had the thing done but there was one problem. The center knife would not stay even with the rest. It insisted on dropping down a few inches (it was the nice heavy gold one). Unable to fix this he was sure he had screwed up. Then upon trying on the crown Ms. Curtis said what a beautiful Diadem you have made. That's when Bruce learned a new word for a crown.
Whew!
